Ok so I'm in the same situation as every else I've talked with. It's January and there is virtually no sign of life outside. It's brown. Oh yeah and they its some more brown lol. So as a photographer its easy to fall into a slump. No flowers or pretty things outside to capture.
I think this is the time to look around at home and grab some neat photo's of the things in our lives that we love so much. Little things that make us smile. Collections. You name it!
I have started doing this. Walking around and looking at the small details. Then running for the canon. I think I've caught a few good memories.
It will have to do...Unless it snows tonight like they say lol. *crosses fingers*. Ok so I'm off work until Monday night so "bringgg it Onn!"
I've also decided to start a Photo Blog. I have seen a few that fit the bill for what I want. No words. Just a nice large photo. Black background. I've emailed a few of my photog friends and will step forward with this once I hear back. I'm also going to find a way to take a real photography class. Either at Ritz or possibly online IF I can find one. This is no passing hobby. It's part of who I am. It's what I need to do. You girls with camera's know what I'm talking about...
Here are a few glimpses into the beauty of my life.

I've been in a similar slump, too. Love those shots, especially the greenery...oh and violin. Lovely!
Ya know...winter time is usually when I get some of my best shots. I love the crisp white snow against the backdrop of the cerulean blue sky or with the ocean as a background. But after slipping and falling and breaking my tailbone last year, I'm really not to excited about going outside and taking pictures. I'm definitely looking forward to spring this year...and my tulips! And all the green!!!
PS....love the violin shot!
Well Auds unfortionately there is No snow down here in NJ lol. It was suppose to snow tonight..but so far its rain. Bleck. I'm dying to get some nice snow photo's.
Stacy thanks!
Hi Jody, I love your house shots..is that a Jim Shore angel?? I love his work and have a few pieces made by him..your shot with the rays of light crossing the room over the shoe is great!!! Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Baba
Pretty, pretty!!!
Yesss it Is a Jim Shore angel. My son bought it for me =)
It's still not snowing here =( darnit lol.
very nice.
I would love to hear about an online course. I took some classes through the local rec- and it was alright but some people in the class just bought their first point and shoot. The class mainly went through history of photography and than two sessions on photoing with different manual mode.
Good luck finding a class
MGF, I will keep you abreast here. I know there are some courses; but they fill up fast. Let me do some online research =)
I like the violin one too.
First: LOVE all the shots... especially the shoes in the sunlight. I dig contrast and light a lot.
Funny how I decided to catch up on blogs first today before writing a post for my own. We're all definitely on the same "brown" train around here aren't we? Photo blogs are great and I'm sure you're going to love it! As for classes, have you considered a class at a community college? I took my first digital photography class back in 2001 with Ken Hohing at SCC. Loved it though at the time couldn't afford to pursue it outside of the class. They provided digital cameras to the students then.
Thanks Betz! Yes I will look into SCC. As soon as I get a few days off again. =)
Thanks for the comment. I love light too!
